The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a 10-year Golden Visa, offering long-term residency to professionals such as engineers, doctors, and Ph.D. holders. Graduates from UAE-recognized universities with a GPA of 3.8 or higher are eligible for this visa, which aims to retain exceptional talent within the country.
This Golden Visa, established by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the ruler of Dubai, in 2019, has already been awarded to over 400 investors, business professionals, and their family members. The initiative strengthens the UAE’s position as a hub for talent and innovation.
The India-Gulf region is home to the world's second-largest migration corridor. Of the approximately 31 million non-resident Indians (NRIs), around 8.5 million work in Gulf countries. Indians constitute nearly 30% of the expatriate workforce in the Gulf States, where the proportion of foreign workers is among the highest globally.
Since the 1970s' "oil boom," Indian migration has significantly contributed to the region’s economic growth, with remittances serving as a key financial lifeline for states with high migration, such as Kerala. Indian migrant workers have played an essential role in fostering the Gulf States' economic expansion.
Foreign nationals can apply for visas such as student visas or family reunification visas, which allow them to reside in Dubai.
This visa requires first securing a job offer from a local employer. It’s a common pathway for individuals moving for work opportunities.
For those interested in starting a business in Dubai, the investor visa is a great option. It also includes the newly introduced residency-by-investment program, allowing individuals to obtain residency by making qualifying investments.
